The PowerPage Local Control Unit (LCU) allows an operator, receptionist or secretary to manually enter paging calls. It also provides facilities for the system supervisor to carry out day-to-day system management. It may be desktop or wall mounted.

• Every user on the paging system has a system record detailing such things as their pager number and the type of message that can be sent
• The LCU can send a speech message to any user programmed to receive voice messages
• The Direct Line Contact (DLC) interface automatically sends preprogrammed messages when an external contact closes
• The type of call allowed (speech, numeric message, etc.) is preprogrammed in the UTU for each team.
